A couple weeks ago OnlineFabricStore.net held a mini contest on Instagram for a “wicked good fabric” t-shirt. Lucky for me I was chosen as one of the winners! About a week later I received my package and in it was the t-shirt AND a reuable shopping bag, some beautiful quatrefoil fabric and a package of flowering seeds. Of course, me being me, I couldn’t just let the shirt be. I found some cute fabric (on sale even) and decided to make my first cut t-shirt. This will be part 1 in a series with how I decorate my flower pot and what I do with my fabric being parts 2 and 3.
I LOVE cardigans. All you have to do to wear them year round is change the shirt with which you wear it.

I’ve got a new video on YouTube! This is my favorite skirt yet! Something new I’m trying is that on the Mondays I post a video, there will be a blog post talking more about the video. Inspiration, creative process, what was going on in my head, etc. Maybe I can even post some bloopers. Gotta laugh at yourself right? The regular DIY/tutorial posts will be back next week and the weeks where I don’t make a video.
What’s up next week? Come back and see.
So I post a lot of DIYs and recipes on this here blog every Monday with the occasional random in between posts, but I would also like to open it up to possibly more topics. Maybe something to which you all could relate. I don’t really have a scope in mind for this post other than to roll around ideas. For this coming Monday I’ve got a recipe in mind, but I’m not totally sold on it. For a while now I’ve been wanting to do a motivation blog, or possibly even a video. I kinda feel like I’m no authority on the subject considering I haven’t been consistent with any of the techniques I would showcase. Perhaps I should hold off on that.
Anywho, I guess what I really want to know is what would you all want to see from me? Keep going with the DIYs and recipes? What DIYs and recipes? Or do you want more? All these questions! lol I hope you have some answers for me.
First I would like to say, one of these days my projects will go as planned from start to finish. In the meantime, this is my high low dress (this was supposed to be a whole different dress, but I’ll get back to it later).
I think empire waist dresses are my favorite, but if you’re like me you have…trouble fitting into them at times. lol So since I know how to sew I decided to take matters into my own hands. This is how I did it.
A few years ago I made this magnetic box to hold my pins and needles for sewing. It was very handy in that it also allowed me to hold safety pins for stringing things through a casing. However, I didn’t think it through well enough because whenever I opened the box, well, you see what happens. It served its purpose, but now it’s time for a change…
So the super cold weather last week inspired me to make a jacket for the winter. It only took me a couple days to make it and I love it! It’s warm and cozy and can be worn two ways! I think the belt is my favorite. I had a lot of leftover fabric so I’m considering making a matching belt to go with it. Do you have any other ideas of ways I can accessorize this? Please share!
